Light Installation by Magenta Studio, 2014
White metal sheets, snaps, cotton fabric, LED lamps (V12)

Continuing from the series of lighting elements featuring low voltage electricity passing through the light fixtures themselves, this light installation is an entire electricity-conducting space, making it possible for lighting fixtures to be connected at any point.

The walls and ceiling of the space consist of metal strips, with each strip functioning respectively as a plus or minus wire. The strips are connected by means of bridges, thus creating an entire electricity-conducting room. Connecting a light fixture between the metal strips closes a circuit, and lights it up. The wires are connected by means of snaps, which in turn create a graphic pattern along the wall.

To contrast the walls and the metal snaps, soft lampshades were developed for the lighting elements. The result is a field of snaps spread along the walls and ceiling, from which cotton light fixtures sprout.

The light installation was first shown at the contemporary art fair Fresh Paint 2014.
