What is the sound of a building? How does architecture influence sound, and how is it influenced by it?
Design Museum Holon, which was designed by Ron Arad, is a unique structure composed of unusual forms and materials, whose visual appearance reveals it to be a "musical building." The installation The Architecture of Sound / The Sound of Architecture exploits this architectural structure to transform the museum into a large-scale musical instrument. The sound is produced through a series of interventions in different areas of the building, using the hollow Corten ribbons as echoing chambers.
