His series <i>Real Time<\/i> (2009-2010), for instance, consists of video projections in which different people (the artist included) constantly wipe out the time. Design, for him, is more closely aligned with giving artistic expression to his imagination than with a quest for the best functional design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aGOd66J5QBA\" title=\"YouTube video player\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Baas&#8217; oeuvre has endowed him with a unique position both within and beyond the design world. In 2009, he was the youngest designer ever to receive the Designer of the Year Award at Design Miami. Early on in his career, he also began collaborating with companies such as Louis Vuitton, Swarovski and Dior. Baas is an internationally renowned designer with a diverse body of work and who is considered one of the most influential young designers of his time.<\/p>\n<p><b>Maarten Baas<\/b> (b. 1978, Holland) is one of the most outstanding designers of his generation. His diverse body of works consists of furniture, objects, installations, videos and performances. The series <i>Smoke<\/i> (2002), Baas&#8217; graduation project at the Eindhoven Design Academy, involved burning furniture and subsequently restoring it by means of epoxy resin.
