Serpentina is a long modular structure that makes clever and direct use of recyclableindustrial materials to create a colorful, iconic, architectural tribute. This tribute is notonly esthetic; the way the structure is positioned in a public space changes the functionsof the elements within it and responds to it by means of the furniture beneath it. A tribunetransforms the public space facing the structure into a stage, and the furniture beneath theshading encourages community use and interaction by means of simple elements: picnictables, low seating, a kiosk, and so forth in accordance with the different communitiesusing the specific public space and the potential inherent in it.The project won the Gan Habanim category.
