Collective Recollection

New from Design Museum Holon Collection

September 06, 2018 – October 01, 2018

The exhibition was presented as part of the Design Week events at Hankin Gallery

In the exhibition Collective Recollection: New from the Museum’s Collection, displayed at Hankin Gallery within the decade celebration for the Israeli Design Season in Holon, the Museum’s collection goes beyond the boundaries of the iconic building and exposes new exhibition.

A museum is an institution with a collection of items with cultural value that are presented to the public. The question arises- what defines a collection and who determines the value of the exhibits? The managers of the collections or those who created the objects; The words written about the items and perhaps the memory of their use.

The new items that are added to the collection shed light on the material mindset of today, but also enable to discover about the past and about the old objects that have been stored for many years on the collection’s shelves.

Selected objects are exhibited in the exhibition, from the variety of items that have been added to Design Museum Holon in the last five years. Including international works, local graduate works, and new projects of veteran creators, in a variety of media and design fields.
