Guided Tours | Heroines

Photo: Elad Sarig

We offer guided tours in English of the exhibition Heroines: Fashion and Hope in World War II, led by the museum’s professional team.

The tour follows the exhibition across the museum’s spaces, beginning with the vibrant pre-war couture scene in Prague and the moving story of Jewish fashion designer Hedy (Hedwig) Strnad, presented through the original exhibition Stitching History from the Holocaust (on loan from Jewish Museum Milwaukee). Visitors will also encounter rare personal items from the Yad Vashem collections, testifying to resilience and the will to cling to life. The exhibition concludes with the inspiring story of Holocaust survivor Lea Gottlieb, founder of the Gottex swimwear empire—an extraordinary example of rebuilding life and identity through design. From wartime ingenuity on the American and British home front, to the creative transformation of materials in the years after the war, the exhibition reveals fashion as an enduring force of imagination, creativity, and hope.
